Monochrome+G (green filter)
Foliage that stays readable in a hard black and white.
Short answer
Monochrome+G applies a digital green filter to Fujifilm’s standard black and white. Foliage lightens so leaves keep structure, and skin renders more evenly. It is the fix for summer landscapes that turn into black masses.

Monochrome’s firmer curve is hard on green. Shoot a summer woodland with plain Monochrome and the trees become an undifferentiated dark shape. The green filter is the direct answer to that problem.
What it changes
Greens rise by roughly a stop of tonal value, which is enough to keep individual leaves and branches separate. Reds darken slightly, which evens out skin and reduces the patchiness that hard black and white can create on a face.
Skies darken a little, less than with yellow, so you keep some sky separation as a bonus.
When to use it
Summer landscapes, woodland, parks and gardens. Portraits outdoors where you want Monochrome’s contrast but not its harshness on skin.
Skip it in winter, in cities without greenery, and whenever the sky is the point — the yellow or red variants do more there.

Common questions
Does the green filter make photos look green?
No. The image is still black and white. The filter changes how colours are converted to grey, not the colour of the output.
Is it worth using on a grey day?
Yes, if there is foliage in the frame. Flat light plus dark leaves is the exact situation this filter fixes.
