The X-H2 is Fujifilm’s high-resolution hybrid: 40.2MP APS-C, 8K/30p internal video, seven-stop IBIS, CFexpress and a deep grip. It has 19 film simulations. It suits people who shoot serious video alongside stills.
The X-H2 and X-H2S launched months apart and look identical. The difference is the sensor: the X-H2 chases resolution and the X-H2S chases speed. If you want 40 megapixels and 8K in a professional body, this is the one.

What the body buys you
A deep grip, a top-plate LCD, a PSAM mode dial instead of shutter and ISO dials, a full-size HDMI port, and a CFexpress Type B slot. It is 660 grams and it feels like a working camera rather than a beautiful one.
The heat management is the real difference. Long video takes that make an X-T5 stop are routine here, and the optional fan accessory extends that further.
What 8K actually costs
8K/30p in 10-bit fills cards quickly and demands a computer that can play it back. Most people who buy the X-H2 for 8K end up delivering in 4K and using the extra resolution for reframing, which is a legitimate reason but not the one in the marketing.
For stills, the 40MP sensor is identical to the X-T5. The pictures are the same; the workflow around them is not.
X-H2 or X-H2S?
The X-H2S has a 26MP stacked sensor that reads out far faster: 40 fps bursts, almost no rolling shutter, better autofocus tracking. The X-H2 has 40MP and 8K.
Sport, wildlife, action: X-H2S. Landscape, studio, commercial, video resolution: X-H2. If neither describes you, an X-T5 does the stills half for less money and less weight.

Verdict

Does the X-H2 have REALA ACE?
No. It has 19 film simulations. Fujifilm has not added REALA ACE to the X-H2, X-H2S, X-T5 or X-S20.
Can the X-H2 record 8K without overheating?
For moderate takes, yes. For sustained recording, the optional FAN-001 cooler is what makes it reliable in warm conditions.
