Short answer

The X-Pro2 introduced the 24.3MP X-Trans III sensor, the X-Processor Pro and the ACROS film simulation. It has a hybrid optical and electronic viewfinder, weather sealing, dual card slots and 15 film simulations.

The X-Pro2 is where several Fujifilm signatures started. ACROS debuted here. So did the joystick, the combined ISO and shutter speed dial, and dual card slots in a mirrorless camera, which nobody had done before.

Where ACROS came from

ACROS needed the processing power of the X-Processor Pro, because its grain is calculated per image and scales with ISO rather than being an overlay. The X-Pro2 was the first camera capable of it.

Fifteen simulations in total, including Classic Chrome and both PRO Neg. options. No Classic Negative, ETERNA or anything later.

X-Pro2 or X-Pro3?

The X-Pro3 has a newer 26MP sensor, Classic Negative, a titanium build and the hidden screen. The X-Pro2 has a conventional rear screen, which many people prefer, and costs far less used.

Both have the hybrid viewfinder, both are weather sealed, and both have dual card slots. If the hidden screen puts you off, the X-Pro2 is the obvious answer.
