Fujifilm X-E4
The minimalist one, for better and for worse.
Short answer
The X-E4 is a 26.1MP rangefinder-style body just 32.7mm deep, with a 180° tilting screen for selfies and 18 film simulations. Fujifilm removed the front command dial and the grip, which divided owners sharply.
The X-E4 is the most controversial camera in the X-E line. Fujifilm stripped it back to a flat slab with almost no controls on the front, and depending on who you ask that is either beautiful minimalism or a camera you cannot hold.

What was removed
The front command dial, the small front grip and the rear thumb rest all went. What remains is a flat plate with a shutter speed dial, an exposure compensation dial and a rear dial.
Fujifilm sold an add-on grip and thumb rest separately, which many owners consider evidence that removing them was a mistake. With a pancake lens, the flat body genuinely does slip into a pocket.
Why people bought it anyway
364 grams, 32.7mm deep, 26 megapixels and 18 film simulations. Nothing else in Fujifilm’s history combines that image quality with that size, and the X-E5 is heavier because it added stabilisation.
The 180° tilting screen also made it a genuine vlogging camera, which the X-E3 never was.

Verdict
The X-E4 is superb with a pancake lens and awkward with anything else. Handle one before buying, because the grip question is not something specifications can answer for you.

Common questions
Why is the X-E4 so expensive used?
It was discontinued quickly and there was a four-year gap before the X-E5. Demand for a small X-Trans 4 body outran supply.
X-E4 or X-E5?
The X-E5 adds IBIS, 40 megapixels and a proper grip. The X-E4 is thinner, lighter and much cheaper used.
